This is what Tuchel says about the Mazraoui decision

FC Bayern’s decision in the Mazraoui case has been made. The Moroccan remains part of the team after his pro-Palestine post. Now coach Thomas Tuchel has also commented on the issue for the first time.

Noussair Mazraoui has been criticized since his Instagram posts about the war in the Middle East. Now former Green Party politician Volker Beck is filing a complaint against the FC Bayern defender. The politician sees his statement as an endorsement of crimes against humanity.

The Noussair Mazraoui case continues to cause problems for FC Bayern – and is causing heated discussions. The former Green Party politician Volker Beck has now filed a criminal complaint with the Munich police and public prosecutor’s office against the FC Bayern professional for “endorsing crimes”.. The reason is Mazraoui’s Instagram posts after the Hamas terror against Israel on October 7th.

The 62-year-old Beck is managing director of the “Tikvah Institute” and president of the German-Israeli Society. He told BILD: “After the massacre on October 7th, the statement ‘help our oppressed brothers in Palestine so that they can achieve victory’ can only be understood as an endorsement of Hamas’ actions. Endorsing crimes against humanity is a punishable offence. Even after Mazraoui’s verbal excuses, it can’t be a simple ‘sponge over it!’ give. FC Bayern’s treatment here is poor. I hope that the judiciary will make the club’s leaders aware of the dimensions of the process.”

Criticism from the Central Council of Jews

The German soccer record champion had called Mazraoui for a report after his pro-Palestinian posts. Mazraoui, Morocco’s international player, issued a statement a few days after his posts without apologizing. FC Bayern then waived any consequences and simply issued a statement that, for many, did not go far enough.

“Noussair Mazraoui has credibly assured us that, as a peace-loving person, he resolutely rejects terror and war,” said Jan-Christian Dreesen, CEO of FC Bayern. The Central Council of Jews in Germany missed, among other things, “more remorse and self-correction” in the 25-year-old defense professional.
