Manuel Neuer is back on the road to top form after his serious injury. The national goalkeeper has the trust of his club. FC Bayern extended Neuer’s contract early for another year. It’s not the only contract signed on Tuesday.

Manuel Neuer’s era at FC Bayern Munich continues. The record champions extended the contract with the 37-year-old goalkeeper by one year until June 30, 2025. The contract with his replacement Sven Ulreich was also extended until this point.

“I am happy to stay at FC Bayern for another year. After my long injury, I’m fully attacking again,” said Neuer, according to the statement. The 2014 world champion goalkeeper made his comeback at the end of October after a long injury break. In December he broke his leg in a skiing accident.

“I really enjoy being on the pitch with this team. I am convinced that together with the fans we can achieve our big goals in the next few years – and of course that includes the Champions League final in Munich in 2025. Knowing Sven will continue to be by my side makes it all the nicer,” said Neuer.

Neuer moved from Schalke to Bayern in 2011

Neuer came to FC Bayern from FC Schalke 04 in 2011. He has also led the team as captain since 2017. He won the treble of the Champions League, championship and DFB Cup twice with FC Bayern (2013, 2020) and won the Club World Cup twice. Initially he was rejected by the fans in Munich, who protested against the signing with “Koan Neuer” signs. The skepticism and dislike of the goalkeeper quickly subsided in Munich.
