F1: Brazil, Norris on McLaren on pole for the Sprint – F1

Lando Norris was the fastest at the end of the Shootout that established the grid for the F1 Sprint Race in Brazil, scheduled for 7.30pm Italian time. The Briton will share the front row with Max Verstappen’s Red Bull. In second Sergio Perez and George Russell. Seventh and ninth were the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. Q1 was marked by Esteban Ocon’s off-track exit.
On his last fastest lap the Frenchman from Alpine hit Fernando Alonso’s Aston Martin before finishing his race against the wall. The accident, under investigation to ascertain the responsibilities of the drivers, interrupted the session with 33″ left to run. Ocon, who emerged unscathed from the rather damaged car, will start 16th in the last Sprint of the season.
