European Championship draw: Germans tremble before the “Hammergruppe” – Sport

Germany has the blues again when it comes to the national team. The defeats against Turkey and Austria have exposed the problems – and yet there will still be a European Championship in the Federal Republic next summer. 24 teams will then play for the title, and the draw for the preliminary round groups will take place this Saturday in Hamburg. Then you also know who the Germans are playing against – and whether the DFB team might have a chance after all.

Anyone else who is trembling, hoping and brimming with euphoria about who excelled in the qualifying, who the favorites are and why Austria is suddenly a blissful football country can be found in this episode of “And Now to Sport”, the SZ’s football talk. This time, moderator Jonas Beckenkamp has the walking EM oracles Martin Schneider and Felix Haselsteiner as guests.

Football Bundesliga, Champions League, sports policy at Fifa and DFB: “And now to sport”, the football podcast from the Süddeutsche Zeitung, provides insights into the most important football topic of the week. Every Monday, SZ sports editors discuss the background to current events.
