Enggy Rudas: “I have high expectations for this tournament”

Venezuela will debut this Monday in the South American Women’s U17 that will take place in Bucaramanga, we spoke with the center of the national team Enggy Rudas.

Enggy Rudas has relatively little time dedicated to basketball, but despite this she will already be playing her second South American as a minor, she was also part of the senior pre-selection for the Americup and is one of the two legionnaires that this U17 will have.

The young woman born in Caracas, raised in Chuspa and who moved to Valles del Tuy two years ago after starting basketball, greatly values what her growth has been on the courts during this time.

“When I went to the Sudamericano last year I was 15 years old and had little time playing, that tournament helped me a lot not only to improve as a player but also to understand how the dynamics work within a team, to mature and above all to have more confidence in me,” says Enggy.

Rudas is, along with Valeria Montero Piña, the only two players who do not live in Venezuela, so she was the last to join the concentration. “It was not difficult for me to adapt, I have shared a lot with the girls, I already knew several of them and it has been a very nice experience being with them,” she indicated.

At 1.96 meters tall, Enggy is not only the tallest player on this team, but also the tallest in the history of our teams and is aware that she will have an important job in the paint.

“It is a very big responsibility to be the center of the team, but I think that with what I have improved in this short time I can assume it and I have high expectations for this tournament,” says Rudas.

The progress that Rudas has made in the short time he has been playing basketball has allowed him to attract attention outside our borders and for a few months he has been part of the Real Club Nautico SIC Tenerife in Spain.

“I have only a short time there, but I have adapted very well, the coaches and my teammates have helped me a lot. “I am studying and playing, that is very important, I have improved my game a lot and that will help me in this South American,” she concluded.
