PHILADELPHIA – NBA MVP Joel Embiid had 30 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists, helping the Philadelphia 76ers humiliate LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers 138-94 on Monday.
Embiid scored the sixth triple of his career, and didn’t even need three full quarters to do it. It was Embiid’s seventh game of ten or more assists in the NBA.
The anticipated summit duel between the Cameroonian and James never really materialized. “Bron” had 18 points in 29 minutes of play, but at no time did we feel that the Lakers could fill the gap created by the Sixers.
Tyrese Maxey was also productive for Philadelphia, with a 31-point night.
For LA, Anthony Davis had 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Even though Embiid was kept out of the game in the fourth quarter due to the 76ers’ impressive lead, they still dominated 40-14 on the scoreboard.
Philly signed a 12th victory in 17 outings this season, while the Lakers lost for the eighth time in 18 games.
