Djokovic Dominates Semi-Final Match to Advance to Finals in Nitto ATP Finals

The Grand Slam record champion showed a concentrated performance right from the start in the semi-final against Alcaraz, who is 16 years his junior, on Saturday evening.

A break to make it 5:3 in the first set put the veteran on the road to victory, and in the second round he broke the serve of the shooting star from Spain when the score was 1:1. When Alcaraz missed two break chances to make it 3-3, the resistance was broken.

Instead, Djokovic made the preliminary decision with the next break to make it 5:2. After just 1:27 hours, the Serb converted his second match point to his ninth final appearance in the highlight tournament at the end of the season.

“That was without a doubt my best match in this tournament. It came at exactly the right time. I felt good from the first point,” said Djokovic in the subsequent winner’s interview on the court.

Djokovic with third win this year against Alcaraz

“I knew it would be very intense. Carlos always gives his best. The match ended with the break in the first set (5:3; editor’s note), after that I played well,” added the 36th -year olds.

It was the third victory this calendar year for the world number one against the man from Murcia. Only in the grass classic at Wimbledon did Alcaraz prevail in five hard-fought sets.

Djokovic praises Sinner: “Plays the best tennis of his life”

When asked about Sinner and the upcoming final game, Djoker replied. “He’s playing fantastically, the best tennis of his life. I expect it to be just as loud in the hall as it was in our first match. But I’ve been in situations like this many times. I hope I can bring my A-game .”
