Dimitri Craninx from Malaga traveled through the Saudi Arabian desert on a Mountain Bike

The passion for challenges and mountain biking is what has led Dimitri Craninx from Malaga to face the desert of Saudi Arabia in the latest edition of the Titan Desert that has been held in Asia; one of the most demanding MTB races of the moment on the international scene.

This is the last test of the Titan World Series, a circuit that closes 2023 with races on three continents: Africa, Europe and Asia. “This test not only requires physical skill, but also psychological resistance to face so many hours of effort on the bike in such arid terrain and with such demanding weather conditions.“, indicates the cyclist after an experience marked by high temperatures and strong gusts of wind.

Duration and difficulty

The Red Sea, dunes, palm groves and stone canyons. The cyclists who have dared to live this experience have pedaled through a terrain full of contrasts through the heart of NEOM. Four days and four nights, more than 400 kilometers of route and more than 3,500 meters of positive gradient to become true titans of Mountain Bike.

“It has been a very hard adventure, but rewarding”, indicates the Gesa Sports cyclist at the end of the race. “The landscapes are totally different from what we are used to and together with the difficulty of the terrain it becomes a unique experience.”

Dimitri Craninx and Sergio Martínez have been the representatives of the Gesa Sports team in Arabia. Gesa Sports is an insurance brand for athletes that also guarantees the safety of participants in the Titan World Series and the rest of the cycling events organized by RPM Sports.
