Diaz decides whether to use it himself

Luis Diaz can decide for himself whether he will play in Liverpool’s Premier League game at Luton Town on Sunday after his parents were kidnapped. Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp said this on Friday.

“If he is well, he will come to us. You can see he didn’t sleep much,” said the German. Díaz’s mother Cilenis Marulanda and his father Luis Manuel Diaz were kidnapped by armed men in northern Colombia on Saturday.

“News gives us hope”

Marulanda was released within hours, and on Thursday the kidnappers said that Díaz’s father would also be released soon. “The news from Colombia gives us a bit of hope. I can’t say what we will do,” Klopp said. “It’s up to him whether he makes himself available or not.”

Liverpool are in fourth place with 23 points, three points behind leaders Tottenham Hotspur and one point behind Arsenal and Manchester City. Luton is in 18th place with five points. Manchester City hosts Bournemouth on Saturday, Arsenal have to face Newcastle United in a big game. Tottenham will only face Chelsea in a London derby on Monday.
