In the last match before the break, in fact, Inzaghi had also lost Benjamin Pavard, knocked out on the knee in Bergamo in the match against Atalanta: the Frenchman should not be seen again before the end of the year, even if it is more likely that he will return to 100% only in 2024. Therefore, choices are limited for the coach, who will also have to deal with the tiredness of the other defenders. Both Acerbi and De Vrij, for example, played two full matches with their respective national teams during the break, while Darmian played ‘only’ 95′ for the Azzurri.

Among the others, only Bisseck remains, who has remained at Appiano Gentile in recent days to try to convince the Nerazzurri coach to give him more space in the coming months. It will be like this, also because at the moment Inzaghi only has four central defenders available for three places each match and in rotation, until Bastoni’s return (expected for the match against Napoli on 3 December or at most for the one against Udinese on 9 December). , it will have to be the young German defender who rests the starters.

Starting for example from the Champions League match against Benfica, which will have relative value given that Inter are already qualified for the round of 16.
