Délia Golvet: Captain of Metz Handball Nationale 1 Women’s Team Shares Impressions and Goals

Present with the Metz Handball Nationale 1 Women’s (N1F) team as part of the derby in Yutz this Saturday, Délia Golvet spoke about her impressions and her role as captain.

When we look at the score, we can say that the match was easy. What was the feeling from the inside?
The start of the match was a little complicated, we had difficulty getting into shape. But when we got into the game project, we unfolded. We had to play the way we know how to play and while accelerating. We played Metz Handball.

Playing against another Moselle team is always special. There are players we know face to face…
We always approach a derby in a special way. We don’t want to lose against the team that is close to home. It’s a match that we prepared very seriously and it was felt on the pitch.

In the second half, some special moves were attempted, we also rotated… Does it feel good to play free for the last of the year 2023?
We wanted to finish the year well, to play this match well. When the score turned in our favor, we let loose… And what’s even better is that it worked!

Today, there was the role of captain as well. Usually, it’s Emma Tuccella who endorses it, what does that represent?
It makes me very happy! I’m not often with the N1 and when I’m there I try to bring my joy of life, my positive attitude, my speed… I think it’s an honor to have been captain today for this team.

The team finished at the top of the standings for this first part of the season, despite the youth of the squad. What is the objective for the future?
I honestly think that we will approach the second part of the season with just as much seriousness. We have to play the matches in the same way, as if we hadn’t played them yet and, once again, we will and we must play Metz Handball. We have no right to defeat and we will try to win all the matches we have left.
