Czech Trio Expelled from National Team Selection After Late Night Out

Vladimir Coufal (West Ham), Jakub Brabec (Aris Saloniki, ex-Genk) and Jan Kuchta (Slavia Praag) were all in the starting line-up in the Czech Republic’s 1-1 draw against Poland last Friday.

A day later, the Czech selection returned home to Olomouc. The Czechs will play a crucial match against Moldova there on Monday. One point is enough for the Czech Republic to qualify for the European Championship.

But that will have to happen without Coufal, Brabec and Kuchta. The trio took a step into the world on Saturday evening, more specifically in the Belmondo nightclub.

They stayed there until the early hours, as photos that emerged from the trip proved. The Czech association immediately throws the trio out of the selection.

“They have fundamentally violated the internal regulations,” the federation said. “They have left the base camp with immediate effect.”
