Hardly anyone knows Frankfurter Eintracht as well as Karl-Heinz Körbel. He has been a member of the club since 1972, played every one of his 602 Bundesliga games with the eagle on his chest, and was a coach and assistant coach.
At almost 69 years old, he still spends almost every day on the Eintracht campus, where he has an office. As a brand ambassador, as head of the football school and as head of the traditional team, for which he still laces up the football boots (when the opponents are not too young), he is still working on an official mission for the club he loves and is right in the middle of the action. His judgments and assessments are in demand at Eintracht because they are honest. Körbel is an institution; he doesn’t have to follow anyone’s instructions.
