Climate Activists Disrupt Slalom World Cup Race with Orange Powder Protest

Not for the first time, climate activists came to disrupt a sports match. At the beginning of this year they already did this at the Snooker World Cup, after which they also made statements at major tennis and golf tournaments.

They also threw orange powder over the snow at the Slalom World Cup in Gurgl (Oos). Just before the top 5 were to come down, they planned their action.

World champion Henrik Kristoffersen couldn’t laugh at it and started lecturing the activists. He found the action “repulsive.” “Say what you want, but don’t ruin it for others.”

Together with Croatian Filip Zubcic, Kristoffersen threw snowballs at the demonstrators.

Austrian Manuel Feller won the slalom in front of his own audience. The Belgian skiers Sam Maes and Armand Marchant did not make it to the 2nd run.
