Santiago de Chile, Nov 1 (EFE).- The twelfth day of the XIX Pan American Games left this Wednesday a great performance by Chile in athletics that was consolidated with medals, a first gold for Costa Rica and Puerto Rico and two Pan American records , in addition to Brazil taking off in the medal table.
Below are other notable events from Santiago 2023.
1. Medal table
Brazil remains installed in second place in the medal table with a harvest of 40 gold, 53 silver and 43 bronze, seconding the United States with a record of 84-49-58. Canada and Mexico remain with 35 golds.
2. Fast Brazil
The Brazilian runner Lucas Coinceiçao gave his country gold number 40 in Santiago 2023 with his victory in the 400 meters final, in which the Olympic runner-up, the Colombian Anthony Zambrano, ended up disqualified after finishing third.

Colombian Sara López also broke her own record in the individual compound modality by adding 710 points, two more than her previous Pan American record.
8. America fights
With four gold medals, the American wrestlers led the start of the competitions in this sport in Santiago 2023 in their freestyle. Kyler Snyder at 97 kilos, 125 kg champion Mason Parris, Zane Richard (57 kg) and Tyler Berger (75 kilos) won their divisions.
9. The unbeatable Red
The Chilean soccer team led by Eduardo Berizzo continues its firm path towards the Pan American gold medal, after narrowly beating the United States and maintaining its immaculate record in the tournament with four wins.
10. Leading Olympic Sails
The two-time Brazilian Olympic champions in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze, are seeking gold, in the FX class, which they lead with 13 points in nine regattas, to retain a place at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
