The Chilean athlete Thomas Briceño stood out as one of the big winners in Santiago 2023 by obtaining the silver medal in the category of -100 kilograms in Judo.
Briceño, who had previously won the gold medal in the Lima Games 2019expressed his thanks for the support received from the people during the competition and highlighted the importance of this support in the achievements of Team Chile.
“Everything has been very nice, the reception of the people and competing that day, that the people were shouting before the fights, I am left with that wonderful feeling of wanting to compete again at home.“, said.
The Chilean athlete also shared his satisfaction for reaching two consecutive finals at the Pan American Gameshighlighting the work of the team and expressing his desire to continue bringing joy to Chileans.
“We can go for more and we are going to give more joy to Chileans, that is what we are looking for“, said.
Qualification for the Olympic Games
Referring to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Briceño stressed that the classification is its main objective and that they will focus on the preparation to achieve it.
“The goal is to qualify for Paris 2024, and that is what let’s prepare before the classification“he explained.
