The Champions League match between Galatasaray and Manchester United is in danger of being cancelled. ESPN reporter Rob Dawson writes on X that the referees are currently looking at the field, which looks very bad.
The match is scheduled for 6:45 PM. It has been raining all day in Istanbul and that has caused puddles on the field of RAMS Park, home of Galatasaray.

According to various English media, the match could also be postponed and played later in the evening. UEFA would insist that the match between United and Galatasaray be played on Wednesday evening.
As things stand now, it will just kick off on time in Istanbul. The first supporters are already in the stands and the Champions League banner is also in the center circle. If the situation worsens in the next few hours, a decision may still be made to postpone.
The promising teams of United and Cim Bom competed against each other earlier on Wednesday in the context of the UEFA Youth League. The heavy rainfall in western Turkey also played a major role in that match. Galatasaray eventually won that match 1-0.
If the first team of the Turkish superpower also manages to beat Erik ten Hag’s team tonight, United will be definitively eliminated from the Champions League. If United wins, the club will be on six points and, depending on the outcome of Bayern Munich – FC Copenhagen, will be second or third in the group again.
United must then win the final game at Old Trafford against Bayern (unless Copenhagen and Galatasaray draw against each other) to secure the next round of the Champions League.
Ten Hag has opted for four changes compared to the match with Everton (0-3 win). Diogo Dalot is replaced by Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Sofyan Amrabat takes over for the outstanding Kobbie Mainoo, Antony plays in place of the suspended Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Højlund replaces Anthony Martial.
