Just three days after the weak performance against FC Bayern, Borussia Dortmund is once again in great demand. In the Champions League group game against Newcastle United, coach Edin Terzic’s team wants to get rid of the frustration of the clear 4-0 defeat. The 1-0 win in the first leg two weeks earlier in the north of England was encouraging.

With another win, BVB would move past second-placed Newcastle, currently on equal points, and further improve their chances of reaching the round of 16 in the difficult Group F. However, coach Edin Terzic will once again have to do without captain Emre Can, who has a knee injury.

Terzic is not surprised by the ongoing upward trend at Newcastle. “This is a big team that has been playing at a top level for almost a year and a half,” said the Dortmund coach, praising the sixth-place team in the Premier League before the duel at the sold-out Signal Iduna Park. “We don’t need a warning. We know about their quality.”
