Canada therefore confirms itself as a “black beast” for Italy: today’s win was the fourth success in five matches. The North American team also prevailed in the round robin of last year’s Finals in Glasgow while the other two victories dated back to Perth 1971 and Ancona 1995. The only Italian success dates back to 1984, in the first round of the competition held in San Paolo, in Brazil (at the time it was played in a single venue).
