Boost for bicycle parking: BePark and parking.brussels commit to creating a new secure parking lot… per week

”With this agreement between BePark and Cycloparking, some 2,500 additional new secure bicycle parking spaces can be offered to cyclists within three years for fifteen euros per year. It’s a little velorution,” commented Elke Van den Brandt (Groen).

15 to 30€ per year, via smartphone

“The bicycle parking spaces created as part of the partnership between BePark and parking.brussels will be accessible by subscription, in the same way as the other spaces offered by Cycloparking,” indicates the press release issued this Monday.

Allow €15 per year for a classic bike, and €30 for a cargo bike. “Access to the car parks will be via a smartphone application, as is the case for motorists who subscribe to BePark.”

This will not be the only initiative in this area, assures the Region. In its 2022-2026 management contract, parking.brussels is in fact asked to create 21,250 spaces for bicycles. In addition to this partnership with BePark, new boxes will be installed on the street and private garages will be transformed into collective spaces.
