Vanessa Flores- To finish the job, the ‘Matador’ Benjamin Gil, will arrive at the Charros de Jalisco to put an end to the malaria that stalks the team and that keeps them in the basement where they will be reunited with the Guadalajara fans, work which will extend for the remainder of the calendar and the following season.

Bittersweet could be Gil’s reception upon his arrival at the Pan American because on the one hand he managed to become Charros’ direct rival while directing the Tomateros de Culiacán, a rivalry that began from the first moment that Jalisco appeared in the Mexican Pacific League when He fought and lost the grand final against the ‘culichis’ in which he represented his first crown as manager.

A past that was left behind after completing his work by directing the Mariachis de Guadalajara in the best season of the Guadalajara team in the Mexican Baseball League, leading them to play in the zone final, earning recognition as Manager of the Year. Once again, Benjamin is reunited with a dream team that, due to different circumstances, has not managed to light the spark plugs. Two names on the roster are old acquaintances: Derrick Loop and Carlos Mendivil, both guides and the latter part of that first Mariachi team.

His work with the National Team and as coach of the Anaheim Angels has reinforced the credibility that was already supported for the Tijuana native. Since his debut on the bench in 2014, he has accumulated four championship rings, all with Culiacán. While as a player he wore the colors of Águilas de Mexicali, Algodoneros de Guasave and Tometeros de Culiacán over 19 seasons in Mexico, obtaining the championship three times in different seasons with the guidas. Experience that he backed up with 10 years in the Big League with the Texas Rangers and Anaheim Angels with whom he won the World Series in 2002.

Benjamin Gil will be presented to the fans this Tuesday to later begin the series against Mayos de Naojoa in what will be his first game directing the Charros de Jalisco. Seventh Entry
