Becker Confident in Alcaraz’s Ability to Bounce Back After Second Half Setbacks

After an outstanding first half of the year and the Grand Slam title in Wimbledon, the Spaniard was unable to win a single tournament in the second part of the year. “Everyone can have a good year or a good tournament. But confirming that over the years is the most difficult task in tennis,” said Becker.

But Becker, who has repeatedly expressed his great admiration for Alcaraz in the past, has great confidence in the youngster again in the next few months. “Alcaraz will now improve again in the winter, I am convinced that I have known Juan Carlos Ferrero for far too long, and maybe train something new, train more, maybe prepare differently.”

Becker also has high hopes for the 20-year-old with a view to the next Grand Slam tournament, the Australian Open: “I am convinced that we will see a very strong Alcaraz in Melbourne.”
