BBL champions ratiopharm Ulm achieved their fourth win on the fifth matchday of the EuroCup season against the Polish basketball record champions Slask Breslau.
However, coach Anton Gavel’s team had a lot of trouble with being at the bottom of the table without a win. With 108:103 (94:94, 49:46) after overtime, Ulm ultimately had the upper hand.
After an even first half, the Ulm team suddenly found themselves with a 13-point deficit at the end of the third quarter. But in the final quarter they turned it up again and took the lead with a 15-0 run. With one second left, Breslau’s Artsiom Parakhouski saved the guests in overtime with two free throws.
With 23 points, forward Karim Jallow was Ulm’s best scorer. On the guests’ side, Lukasz Kolenda collected the most points with 29 points.
Thanks to their third EuroCup success in a row, Ulm are staying at the top of the table and are now in third place in ten-team Group B. The best six teams advance to the next round.
