The first of two matchups took place this weekend at the All-Star Showcase to kick off Baseball United.
For this pair of matches, each of the teams (West and East) will have a total of 26 players.
The property to host the duels that weekend will be the International Cricket Stadium; which was conditioned to play baseball.
The emotions were immediate from the first chapter; since people were interested in observing the Dominican duel between Bartolo Colón and Robinson Cano; where the 50-year-old veteran pitcher ended up victorious.
After a magnificent entrance for Colón; in which he retired the first three batters in order came the first hit in league history on a Courtney Hankins drive to center field.
The first run in Baseball United history came on a sacrifice fly by WilIn Rosario; who promoted Steven Moya. In this inning, the West made a couple of runs and went ahead on the scoreboard 2-0.
In the fifth inning, East came with a two-run rally to tie the score; which was headed by Pablo Sandoval.
Then, one inning later, the East took the lead in the game.
The scoreboard would no longer move and with this the East takes the first game of the two we will have this weekend.
