The weekend of Baseball United has arrived, a professional baseball league in the Middle East and South Asia that will begin its adventure in 2024 but will debut with an All-Star Show Case where there will be a couple of exhibition games.
Baseball United CEO and principal owner, Kash Shaikh, decided that this project would be presented with a two-day All-Star Show Case a year before its formal start (with four teams participating in a season) and to have an impact world, decided to start with some stars and former stars of the Major Leagues as players and/or ambassadors.
Robinson Cano, Pablo Sandoval, Didi Gregorius, Bartolo Colón, Andrelton Simmons lead the group of baseball stars who will be in the exhibition games at the Dubai International Stadium, a building where cricket is played but which was adapted to host this event.
The All-Star Show Case will be between two teams, West and East, who present a roster of 21 players each, who will play on Saturday the 25th and Sunday the 26th.

The starting pitchers for the first duel will feature an experienced Bartolo Colón (who played 21 seasons in the Major Leagues) with the Eastern team, and Curaçao right-hander Jair Jurrjens for the Western squad.
The main idea of this event is to increase the base of baseball fans that exists in this area of the world, where according to Shaikh, there are 53 million fans in India, 12.5 million in Pakistan, 1.5 million in Saudi Arabia and 800 thousand in the United Arab Emirates.
