Barça Secures Victory Against Lenovo Tenerife in 94-83 Win at Palau

Eight out of eight at the Palau. Barça beat Lenovo Tenerife 94-83, who has sold his skin very dearly until the last five minutes of the match, where the players led by Roger Grimau have been more incisive and have been able to beat some combative Canarian players. Jabari Parker, with a rating of 19, has once again been key in the culé victory. Jokubaitis has also been a reference for the Blaugranas with an exhibition in the last quarter, when they felt most uncomfortable.

Ten minutes from you to you

The first quarter of the game was a constant back and forth attack. 40 points prove it. Oscar Da Silva (7) opened the scoring with a two-pointer assisted by Kalinic. The Brazilian center was in charge of completing the offensive transition after also getting the first rebound of the match. The Canaries reacted quickly with two free throws from Cook and two more points from Ristic. And this has been the tone of these first ten minutes. Barça attack and recovery of those from Tenerife, and vice versa.

The entrances of Parker and Nnaji have activated Barça, which was coming from -8 against Lenovo. The American power forward has been a total game-changer in attack, making Palau rise more than once. Nnaji also received applause from the fans when, minutes after entering the court, he blocked a ball from the Canaries. With the score constantly tied, it was 19-19 with 2:19 seconds remaining in the period. Parker (13) took advantage of a defensive foul by Doornekamp and took both free throws to end the quarter with a +2 lead for the Blaugranas.

Barça does not forgive

A triple from the Canadian-Dutch Aaron Doornekamp has once again advanced Tenerife. It was, however, the only time that the Canary Islands club would achieve it. The players led by Roger Grimau have completed ten minutes of great success in attack. With 50% in field goals (7/14), Barça has given no respite to Lenovo who could not find a solution in defense to prevent the culé from scoring. Darío Brizuela (8), Willy Hernangómez and Jabari Parker have been key in this section, each finishing it with five points. The Spanish power forward also added three rebounds during the second quarter.

On the contrary, the Canarian players led by Txus Vidorreta have been more unsuccessful regarding the first quarter; especially in the line of three, where they have only hit three out of 13. Barça has taken advantage of this to achieve a +8 total. With this constant mistake and a Barça plugged into attack, the score was 40-35 at the end of the second quarter.

Maximum equality

Roger Grimau’s players started the second half of the game just as they finished the first, plugged into scoring. Vesely (8) has been the reference in attack in these 10 minutes, scoring all of his points in this quarter. His two-handed dunk sent the Palau into a frenzy, but the referee team cooled the situation when they signaled a technique to the Barça center. The whistles have been deafening in the face of a dubious referee decision.

The entry of the player with a Barça past, Marcelinho Huertas, has revived Lenovo who, although they have maintained the mistake of three (3/13), have entered into a good offensive dynamic, closing the gap on a Barça that had surpassed the barrier of 10 points of difference. Even so, Barça has not let up in attack and has remained ahead on the scoreboard, despite this, giving up fourth place by one point (22-23).

Superhéroe Jokubaitis

Lenovo wanted to keep the pressure on the Barça players and they were two points behind. The black and yellow have bothered a Barça that has found in Jokubaitis (13) the hero it needed. Eight points from the Lithuanian point guard have activated the resistance of the culés who, little by little, have once again found the way to widen the gap against a very fighting Tenerife. One of Barça’s baskets had the mark of Laprovittola, who has achieved the record of 1,000 assists in the Endesa League.

Huertas has maintained the role of leader of Lenovo with also eight points, but Barça has continued at the pace of Rokas and has ended up defeating their rivals by 94-83.
