Austria beats Germany – sport.ORF.at

Austria’s national football team ended the international year with a prestigious success. Team boss Ralf Rangnick’s ÖFB selection celebrated a 2-0 friendly win against Germany in Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Marcel Sabitzer (29th) and Christoph Baumgartner (73rd) scored the goals in front of 46,000 spectators against the four-time world champions. For the guests, Leroy Sane (49th) was shown a red card for assaulting Phillipp Mwene.

After an assist from Baumgartner, Sabitzer let the German Jonathan Tah out with a hook and shot flat into the near corner to make it 1-0. ÖFB captain David Alaba started the 2-0 with a sharp pass to the front. Gregoritsch passed the ball to Baumgartner, who beat Kevin Trapp with a lob.
