Arturo Nieto commanded Magellan’s victory

A torrid offensive of 13 and uncatchable, led by Arturo Nieto and Romer Cuadrado, gave Navegantes el Magallanes the 6-3 victory over Caribes de Anzoátegui, this Saturday at the José Bernardo Pérez in Valencia.

Magallanes went ahead with two runs in the first inning after a double by Alberth Martínez. Caribes scored immediately, in the top of the second, with a sacrifice fly by William Astudillo. But soon the game would go down one street.

Between the fourth and fifth innings Magallanes took off with four runs thanks to a single by Carlos David Rodríguez and a base sweeping triple by Arturo Nieto.

A home run by Luis Sardiñas in the seventh inning allowed Caribes to put the game up by three (6-3), but the electric relay brought out the caste and ended the eastern reaction.

Anthony Vizcaya recorded his second save of the season after a relief of one and a third scoreless innings, in which he allowed only two hits, walked none and struck out two. His effectiveness remains immaculate.

The victory went to Yorvin Pantoja (1-0) who pitched two and two-thirds blank innings, after debut starter Josh Maciejewski worked two innings of two hits and one run.

Magallanes leveled its record again (6-6) and tied for third place with the Águilas del Zulia, just two games away from second place. Caribes, for its part, finished at four and seven and is penultimate in the classification table.
