Argentine Delegation Shines on First Day of Judo at Parapan American Games

On the first day of judo at the Parapan American Games, the Argentine delegation, with Alfredo Acosta from San Francisco as one of the coaches, won four medals.

This Sunday the Judo fights for the blind began at the Parapan American Games taking place in Santiago, Chile. The Argentine delegation has Alfredo Acosta, director of the CIJAA of our city, as one of the coaches.

Four Argentine judokas were able to achieve four medals on the first day. Two were silver medals and two others were bronze.

In the final of the -73 kg J1/J2 category Eduardo Gauto lost by Ippon with the Brazilian Harlley Pereira and won the silver medal. For her part, Rocío Ledesma also finished second in the women’s Group A of the -48 kg J1 / J2 category and was awarded the silver medal.

In fights for bronze there were two victories and one defeat. Paula Gómez, in the -48 kg J1/J2 category, defeated the Brazilian Larissa Oliveira through Ippon.

Laura González, in the -57 kg J1/J2 category, also beat the Colombian Eslendy Lamadrid by Ippon in 01:24 and won the bronze. David Gómez lost in the -60 kg J1/J2 category for Ippon with the Uruguayan Henry Borges and could not obtain the third place medal.
