Argentina Continues Unstoppable Run in Men’s Basketball at Santiago 2023 Pan American Games

Santiago de Chile, Nov 2 (Prensa Latina) Argentina continued today with its unstoppable actions in the men’s basketball of the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, by beating the Dominican Republic 82-81 in overtime in group A.

The South Americans won the first quarter 19-3, but lost their rhythm and effectiveness in their shots to fall in the remaining three by 23-25, 15-24 and 17-21 and reach the end of the match with a tie at 74 points However, in extra time they closed the spaces granted well to achieve success by 8-7.

Javier Alejandro Saiz stood out in the Albiceleste squad with 19 points and five rebounds, and received the support of Martin Cuello, author of 12 points, six balls caught under the rings and five assists, and Franco Baralle (10 points, one ball scored close of the perimeters and delivered six passes for basket).

In pool B, Brazil conquered the zone with six points by beating Puerto Rico 72-69, followed by Mexico (two points).

The Mexicans achieved a better average of goals than the Chileans and Puerto Ricans to finish second, despite losing this Thursday to the Andeans by 59-63.
