Antoine Battut in pole position to join the Montpellier staff

Author of a failed start to the season – four defeats in five days and a thirteenth place in the standings – Montpellier is working to strengthen its staff. Looking for a technician to work particularly on the sidelines, president Mohed Altrad and manager Richard Cockerill met three candidates for the position in recent days. According to our information, the leads leading to James Coughlan, who left the Toulon staff this summer, and David Gérard, free since the end of the World Cup and his time in the Portugal staff, have been put aside.

Montpellier would have made the third candidate, in this case Antoine Battut, its priority. Having passed through the MHR (2014-2017), the former third row joined the Bayonne staff at the end of his playing career in 2020. An adventure which ended with dismissal for serious misconduct.
