SOMEREN – Last weekend, the annual Takken tournament of Badminton Someren took place in the De Postel sports hall in Someren.
Members of the association could bring someone to participate in this tournament together. Those who registered individually were merged with other members. The hall was well filled with 40 enthusiastic participants. The 20 teams were divided into 3 groups, taking the levels and experience into account as best as possible. After a short introduction everyone started, with a total of 5 games per team. There was a fanatical battle for every point for two hours, which was of great importance for the final outcome. A maximum of 15 points could be achieved, but none of the teams succeeded. There were 4 teams with 14 points, in group 1 there were 2 teams with the same number of victories, but the 9 point difference (208 against 199) was the deciding factor.
After each round the scores were recorded. After all matches had been played, the awards ceremony took place in the canteen. The winners of the 3 groups: Michiel and Martien, Douwe and Teun and Jeroen and Bart.
