Anies Watches Brazil Vs Argentina U17 World Cup, Answers about Flooded JIS Field

KOMPAS.com – Candidate for President of the Coalition for Change, Anies Baswedan, spoke about the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) field which was flooded due to rain.

The JIS field was indeed flooded before the Brazil vs Argentina duel in the quarter-finals of the 2023 U17 World Cup, Friday (24/11/2023)

The Brazil vs Argentina duel was postponed for 30 minutes from the initial schedule. According to the schedule, the classic match was supposed to start at 19.00 WIB.

The delay was made because a number of officers were trying to clear the JIS field from standing water.

On that occasion, the former Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, also watched the Brazil vs Argentina match.

Kompas.com together with other media crew asked Anies Baswedan about the JIS field which was flooded.

“Just ask FIFA,” said Anies about the flooded JIS field to media crew including Kompas.com at JIS on Friday (24/11/2023).

Apart from that, Anies also answered questions about the JIS roof which was not covered even though it was raining.

JIS is actually equipped with a roof that can be opened and closed automatically. This automatic roof closing mechanism is the first in Indonesia.

“Just ask the organizers,” he said.

However, Anies Baswedan admitted that he was happy to be able to watch the 2023 U17 World Cup at JIS.

“Today’s match was fun. “Every time I return to JIS I am always happy,” he said.
