The Andalusian Specialized Badminton Sports Technology Center of Huelva, located in the Annex Pavilion of the ‘Carolina Marín’ Sports Palace, has 18 athletes in permanent concentration regime for this course, of which two are members of the national para-badminton team. , with Paco Motero, recent European champion in mixed doubles as a reference.
In addition, three athletes in the group, the national champion Cristina Teruel among them, are already pursuing university studies, which represents the culmination of their academic/sports training, which is one of the main objectives of the program, according to the Board. it’s a statement.
The delegate of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Teresa Herrera, has visited these facilities together with those responsible for other entities that are part of the sports project such as Huelva City Council, the Provincial Council and the Spanish and Andalusian Badminton Federations.
The athletes who make up the Technique Center have also participated, as well as the Associations of the “Badminton without Barriers” Program, which begins its fifth year of operation with this new Course.
The Center aims to improve the conditions in which the training process of those athletes with the most outstanding performance in the sports modality takes place, as well as to facilitate the comprehensive training and improvement of Andalusian athletes of school age with a higher level and projection. of sports performance, the so-called “sports talents”, which are part of the specific sports programs developed therein, through training support, advice and guidance on job placement, safeguarding the protection of the athlete’s health.
For its part, the Andalusian Badminton Federation has been entrusted with the management of the Center since its inception in 2002 and develops the technical training program from three aspects: Training of sporting talents, for the development and improvement of the abilities of athletes of age selected school; the Improvement of sporting talents, aimed at the specialization of these athletes in order to increase their performance in national and international competitions and the Maintenance of the performance of these athletes.
