Alpine skiing, Italy’s squad for the double giant slalom of Mont Tremblant. Bassino, Brignone and Goggia are the big blue ones

The North American trip continues 2023-2024 Women’s Alpine Skiing World Cupwho is preparing to move from Vermont to Mont Tremblant for a double appointment between the wide doors scheduled between Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December. They will take place in Canada two giants, the third and fourth of the season after the first two events in Sölden and Killington.

Italy wants to redeem itself after missing the podium in the States and will show up in Quebec with important ambitions. There are eight athletes called up by the Italian technical director Gianluca Rulfi for the two races of the weekend on the new Tremblant track: Marta Bassino, Federica Brignone, Sofia Goggia, Roberta Melesi, Laura Pirovano, Elisa Platino, Beatrice Sola and Asja Zenere.

The group that took part in last Saturday’s Killington competition was therefore confirmed, in which a decent sixth place was achieved with Brignone (good at defending herself despite negative feelings) and a notable ninth position with Goggia. The Bergamo native is becoming competitive again in this specialty too and in Canada she will finally be able to start in the first heat with an interesting bib close to 3pm.
