Alessio Romagnoli Reflects on His Career with Celestial City: From Roma Debut to Gratitude for Mihajlovic

Interviewed by Celestial CityAlessio Romagnoli retraced some phases of his career. Among these, the period in which he wore the shirt of Romawith which he made his debut in Serie A and played in the Italian Cup final on 26 May 2013. Below are two excerpts from the interview.

How did you manage to celebrate on May 26, 2013 from the bench and with the Roma shirt on?
“It was a special match, because as a professional I was disappointed by the defeat and I think it’s also right. It was a title, I was a member of Roma and it was normal for me to be disappointed by the defeat. But at the same time my team won it team, it’s normal that I was a little more relieved. It was a difficult match.”

Continuing, Romagnoli has the opportunity to thank Sinisa Mihajlovic and Bruno Conti for giving him the opportunity to express himself at the highest levels.

Is there a person you need to say thank you to in your career? And one that perhaps hindered you?
“I think I owe thanks to Sinisa, he bet on me and made sure that I could grow first at Sampdoria and then in a great team like Milan. And then Bruno Conti because he discovered me as a child, allowing me to join the youth team Rome, so thanks certainly also go to him, who among other things is from the same town as me. I am from Nettuno, but I was born in Anzio because in Nettuno there are no hospitals that deliver babies. But I am from Nettuno, from a neighborhood called San Giacomo, and I’m very proud of it. There is a beautiful tradition of baseball there, I also played there as a child. Anyone not to thank? Nobody, I don’t think there have been people who have hindered the my career”
