First week of matches of the AICS Messina provincial youth football championship, which concerns the categories: Piccoli Amici, Primi Calci, Pulcini, Esordienti, Giovanissimi and Allievi. In total, 45 participating teams will defend the colors of 12 clubs affiliated to the Italian Sports Culture Association: Messina Boys, Sporting Athens, Trinacria, La Pineta Sport, Sporting Club, Garden Club, Club 1999 Messina Sud, JC Soccer Academy , Bellinzona, Lauretana, Messina Futsal and Oratorio Guanella. There will therefore be almost 600 children in the field aged between 5 and 16.
The Italian-style group format (home and away) is foreseen, which will qualify the best teams for the semi-finals. The winners of Primi Calci, Pulcini, Esordienti and Giovanissimi will secure, in addition to the coveted Messina title, the possibility of representing the entire province at the regional finals, which will take place from 19 to 21 April at the Athena Resort in Ragusa. The matches will be played on weekday afternoons plus Saturday mornings. The facilities involved in the competitions are: Punto Verde, Rosario Central, “PalaLaganà” of Montepiselli, Sporting Club Tremonti, Garden Club, La Pineta Sport Club and at the pitch of the church of San Nicola in Bari.
