Real Madrid forward, Rodrygo Goes, reported having received racist insults on his social networks in recent days, after having a strong confrontation with Lionel Messi during the match between Brazil and Argentina played on Tuesday at the Maracaná.
“Racists are always on duty. My social networks have been invaded with insults and all kinds of nonsense. It’s here for everyone to see!” the attacker posted on his Instagram account, referring to his last publication, from Last November 11, where dozens of users reproached him for calling the Argentine players “cowards” for leaving the field of play after the police repression unleashed in the stands of the stadium.
And he added: “If we do not do what they want, if we do not behave as they think we should, if we wear something that bothers them, if we do not bow our heads when they attack us, if we occupy spaces that they believe are theirs, the racists will come into action with their criminal conduct.
“Bad luck for them, we are not going to stop!” Rodrygo stated in his message.

Among those dozens of comments in the Brazilian soccer player’s penultimate post, there are some with racist overtones that include emojis of monkeys and bananas.
Incidents and repression in the Maracaná stands
The match in which Argentina beat Brazil 1-0, valid for the sixth day of the South American Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, began half an hour late due to the clash of fans that occurred in one of the Maracaná’s headers, which forced intervene the police.
