Tension is rising in the Achterhoek as the region prepares for the Achterhoek Buut Championship. This year, eight talented participants from the region will again compete for the title of “Champion of Laughter.” The participants are in any case the top 3 from last year, Daniel Schmitz, Oscar van Leeuwen and Harry Nordkamp. This is supplemented with prize winners from previous years, such as Vincent Nijhof, Lambert Jan Koops and Niels Berendsen. The eight is completed with Mathilde Geerds and Paul Wiefferink.
“A beautiful, colorful group,” said chairman Maurice Scholten. “The evening promises not only hilarious acts, but also a fun atmosphere in which the community comes together to enjoy a wonderful dose of humor. From unexpected plot twists to irresistible comic timing, the Buut Championship will show everyone why the Achterhoek is known for its humor.”
On November 25, the participants will meet in Dorpshuus in Varsselder to present their best work. The audience can expect an evening full of laughter, screeching and roaring as the comedians perform their funniest acts. The eight participants have written their songs with love and dedication and they will take the stage with the determination to give the spectators an unforgettable evening.
The Achterhoeks Buutchampionship is a stage on which local and regional talents shine and where the power of humor unites and fraternizes.
