78% of PSG supporters want Kylian Mbappé to stay

Kylian Mbappé leaves no one indifferent. After a turbulent start to the season, marked by rumors of leaving Real Madrid, a stint in the loft and a return to the forefront with PSG, the captain of the Blues was the subject of a survey carried out by Odoxa for Winamax and RTL. And he will be able to see that his popularity has declined. While in 2019, 80% of French people found him likeable, this is now only the case for 63% of them. The same goes for his humility, with only 47% of French people believing that this qualifier applies to the attacker.

His footballing qualities are not up for debate. 69% of fans of this sport also believe that he is the best player of the Blues, while 63% consider him essential for a victory at the next Euro in Germany. Having become captain since the retirement of Hugo Lloris and Raphaël Varane, Kylian Mbappé fulfills his role well according to 68% of enthusiasts.

Only 49% find his positions on social issues good

However, there is still progress for the Paris Saint-Germain striker. 73% of football fans still find it too individualistic. His coach in the capital, Luis Enrique, could allow him to take another step forward according to 85% of the club’s supporters and 79% of enthusiasts. A figure which recalls the Spaniard’s speech after his striker’s hat-trick against Reims, when he asked “that he do more”.

The future of Kylian Mbappé at the club was also discussed. 78% of PSG fans want to see him stay with the Parisians as long as possible, even if 71% think he will leave next summer. As for football fans, only 58% want to see him extend the adventure in the Capital, even if they too imagine a departure during the next summer transfer window.

Finally, the 1005 people surveyed were questioned about the extra-sporting image of the third place winner of the last Ballon d’Or. And opinions are divided. If 63% of French people believe that Kylian Mbappé gives a good image of France abroad and that he is an example for young people, only 49% find his positions on social issues good.
