[서울=뉴시스] Reporter Park Dae-ro = The ‘2023 Gwangju Korea Masters International Badminton Championships’ will open on the 7th. Some injured national team players, such as Ahn Se-young, will not participate.
This competition will be held at the Universiade Gymnasium of Gwangju Women’s University in Gwangju from the 7th to the 12th.
279 players from 27 countries will participate in five individual events (men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles).
Some players, including Ahn Se-young (women’s singles), Kim So-young and Gong Hee-yong (women’s doubles), and Lee So-hee and Baek Hana (women’s doubles), will not participate in this tournament due to injuries suffered at the Hangzhou Asian Games and the National Sports Festival.
In the men’s singles, players who played in the Hangzhou Asian Games team event such as Jeon Hyuk-jin, Lee Yun-gyu, and Geon Yeop, as well as Choi Ji-hoon, Choi Pyeong-gang, Kang Hyeong-seok, and Jeong Min-seon, will participate.
In the women’s singles, Hangzhou Asian Games representative Kim Ga-eun, Shim Yu-jin, Lee Se-yeon, Kim Joo-eun, Jeon Ju-i, Park Ga-eun, and Kim Garam will participate.
In men’s doubles, the world’s 6th ranked Seo Seung-jae and Kang Min-hyuk, as well as Wang Chan-Kim Young-hyuk, Jin Yong-Ki Dong-ju, Na Kwang-min and Cho Song-hyun, and Kim Jae-hwan and Choi Hyuk-gyun, will participate.
In women’s doubles, Kim Hye-jung, Jeong Na-eun, Shin Seung-chan and Lee Yu-rim.
In mixed doubles, the world’s 4th ranked Seo Seung-jae and Chae Yoo-jeong, 7th ranked Kim Won-ho and Jeong Na-eun, Kim Young-hyuk and Lee Yu-rim, and Wang Chan and Shin Seung-chan are scheduled to participate.
