Zacha Leads Boston to Overtime Victory Over Florida

Czech hockey forward Pavel Zacha scored the winning goal and assisted in Boston’s 3-2 overtime win over Florida. David Pastrňák prepared one goal for the Bruins and with 14 points he is the fourth most productive player in the league.

Boston did not get off to a good start in the rematch of the first round of the spring Stanley Cup. The Bruins conceded two goals in the first period and lost 0:2. Brad Marchand provided the contact shot at the beginning of the second half, and Charlie McAvoy equalized in the third twenty-minute period after the interplay between Zacha and Pastrňák.

The American defender started the whole action himself before the equalizing goal. In the defensive zone, he moved the puck to Zach, who from the first found the onrushing Pastrňák, who drove through the offensive third and challenged McAvoy for his second hit of the year.

The pillar of Boston’s defensive ranks ruthlessly hit Oliver Ekman-Larson two minutes after his goal, sending his team into a five-minute deficit. In that, the Bruins fended off pressure from which the Panthers produced six field goal attempts and sent the game into overtime.

“The boys did a great job in weakening. It’s clear that the opponent got some shots, but I think we managed to break their attack quite well. But they did a good job throughout the match, not only at the end of it,” praised the defensive goalkeeper Linus Ullmark, who had 35 hits in the win.

Set time in the 64th minute ended Zach. The Czech center picked up the puck in the defensive zone, dragged it down the right side of the field into the attacking third and decided Boston’s eighth win of the season with a wrist shot. With six points for three goals and three assists, the Brno native is the fourth most productive Czech in the NHL.

“We got into a two-on-one breakaway, so I naturally looked for a pass option. But the defender covered the space well, so I tried to shoot. I’m glad I hit it under the rebounder, where I saw space,” Zach described the decisive moment , who was voted the second star of the match.

Anaheim lost No. 1 goaltender John Gibson in the match against Pittsburgh. The American goalie was replaced by Dostál after the first period at 1:1, and in the rest of the game he eliminated 33 shooting attempts. “When John told me during the break that I would probably have to play in goal, I wasn’t too happy. We have a great relationship, he’s my mentor, so it’s not nice to see him injured,” said the young Czech goalkeeper.

Dostál scored the only two goals at the turn of the second and third periods. First, Yevgeny Malkin shot through him and Zohorn made it 3:2 for the Penguins at 41:25. The Czech forward, after pressure from the Penguins in the goal area, got the puck past a helpless compatriot and scored the second goal in the fifth game of the season.

Anaheim turned the game in its favor thanks to Mason McTavish. The 20-year-old striker first tied the game at 3-3 and 13 seconds before the final siren decided the victory for the Ducks.

The young forward scored six seconds after leaving the penalty box himself. He didn’t even have time to join the defending trio in the defensive zone and already got into a breakaway. In this, despite the harassment of the defender Erik Karlsson, he aimed accurately and decided Anaheim’s fourth win in a row.

“I was sitting in the penalty box and I was praying that the guys could do it. They did a great job,” McTavish said of the final minutes of the game. “We probably didn’t deserve to win, but that’s hockey,” added Anaheim’s most productive player.

Dostál caught over 94 percent and led the team to a fourth win in his fifth game of the year. Defender Radko Gudas played 18 and a half minutes and was Anaheim’s third busiest player.

Petr Mrázek also scored in Monday’s program. The goalkeeper of Chicago on the ice of Arizona jumped in against a 1:7 disadvantage and received one goal from 11 attempts in 24 minutes. The Blackhawks lost to the Coyotes 1:8 and did not score for the fourth time in the last five duels.

Connor Bedard scored the only goal for the losers after 28 seconds of the game. However, the number one draft pick was overshadowed by Michael Carcone, who contributed to the Coyotes’ win with a hat trick and one assist.

Even in the tenth game of the year, the Stanley Cup defenders from Vegas scored points. The Golden Knights defeated Montreal 3-2 on separate runs for their ninth win of the season. The only loss to the reigning champions was inflicted by Chicago, which won 4-3 in overtime in Nevada.

Martin Nečas was also happy about the win on Monday, Carolina defeated Philadelphia 3:2 in overtime. The NY Rangers with Filip Chytil also won over Winnipeg with the same result, and Dallas with Radek Faksa also won. Stars beat Columbus with David Jiříček 5:3.
