Willem van Hanegem Predicts Bright Future for Excelsior Star Couhaib Driouech

Willem van Hanegem is enjoying Couhaib Driouech this season. De Kromme expects the Excelsior star to take a step higher after this season.

The former SC Heerenveen player has had an excellent start to the competition with Excelsior. The attacker was involved in three goals and is fifth with the Kralingers. “That little guy… He’s as fast as hell,” Van Hanegem notes in the Willem & Wessel Podcast. “I would be disappointed if he doesn’t play for another club after this season.”

Driouech excelled against SC Heerenveen, but he was also the big man in the draw against Ajax. “Then he played really well. They were terrified of him. He is not that big, but very fast,” recalls Van Hanegem, who thinks that the left winger will not play at Excelsior for much longer. “That is annoying for Excelsior, because they always have nice players, but they are always gone after a number of years.”
