After winning the tenth German softball championship the previous week, the Wesseling Vermins were also able to secure the 2023 German Softball Cup trophy. At the weekend they won again against the Bonn Capitals in the final of the Final Four in Neunkirchen and won the double. As runners-up in the cup, Bonn secured their place in next year’s European Cup Winners’ Cup, as Wesseling qualified for the European Cup Winners’ Cup. The Final Four started with 8-0 and 3-2 victories for the Bonn Capitals and Wesseling Vermins against the Stuttgart Reds and Mannheim Tornados. In the game of the first round losers in the double-elimination tournament, Mannheim lost to Stuttgart 4-0. In the first semi-final, Wesseling won 6-4 against Bonn to move straight into the final. The Capitals were then able to beat Stuttgart 8-1 in the second semi-final. In the final the Vermins had the upper hand against Bonn 8:4.
