The launching ceremony and the draw for the match calendar of the Uruguayan Basketball League 2023/2024, edition XXI, were held in the Idea Vilariño room, of the ANTEL Telecommunications Tower.
The championship starts next Monday the 23rd and twelve clubs participate: Aguada, Biguá, Cordón, Defensor Sporting, Goes, Hebraica y Macabi, Larre Borges, Malvín, Nacional, Peñarol, Trouville and Urupan.
The regular phase will be on two wheels, all against all (total of 22 dates). The first six classified teams will play against each other in two rounds (total 10 stages), to place themselves from first to sixth position in the quarterfinal play-offs.
While the remaining six located in the lower part of the standings will also compete in two rounds against each other (total of 10 dates). Those who finish in eleventh and twelfth position will directly descend to the Metro. The ninth and tenth will play a best-of-three series against the first and second classified from the interior. Subsequently, the winners of those keys will face the seventh and eighth in Play-in to determine the last two teams classified for the play-off postseason.
