The Australian Alex de Minaur, 11th in the world, was also surprised by the Hungarian Fabian Marozsan (6-3, 7-5), ranked 91st. The latter signed his second good performance in Masters 1000 this season, five months after inflicting a surprise defeat on Carlos Alcaraz in Rome. His next opponent will be the Serbian Dusan Lajovic, who benefited from the withdrawal of the Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor due to illness.
Auger-Aliassime and Musetti also beaten
In this second round that looked like a massacre for the Top 20, the Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime, 15th in the ATP and seeded n°14, also took the door, dominated by Marton Fucsovics (7-6 [3], 4-6, 6-3), another Hungarian player, 57th in the world.
