TARQUINIA – First outing of the under 17 Basket Pegaso Tarquinia against Basket Pyrgi Civitavecchia, in preparation for the 2023-2024 competitive season. With the only absence of captain Carmignani, the Tarquinian team showed up for the friendly match with all its players: from the point guards Liberati, Feliziani, Pedace, De Paolis, to the guards Faiola, Colonnelli, Corinti, Moretti, Pascucci; from the wingers Allegrini, Pavanati, Cardinale, Rosati, to the pivots Agate and Caccia. ‘I didn’t expect anything more than what the boys did, for just the month of training on their legs – says coach Fraticelli with satisfaction -. However, the attitude was proactive, although we are far from the aggressiveness necessary to win matches in a difficult championship like the regional under-17s. The boys are behaving very well, given that in recent weeks they have never missed training.’ ‘Many good things but also aspects to improve, such as the defensive half of the pitch and too many dribbles used to start the attacking game – declares coach Massella, who recently obtained his federal license -. We are happy with the work, which takes place in a calm and relaxed atmosphere.’ For team manager Faiola ‘what we aim for beyond the sporting aspect is to train kids in the fundamentals of life such as respect, friendship and education’. The under 17 team from the Tamurè restaurant, the main sponsor of the team, will return to the field in the next few days to challenge Basket Pyrgi Civitavecchia again. ‘A round trip to see if there are improvements – concludes coach Fraticelli – and if there was a need to fix something in some sectors such as the defence’.
