Background: The DFB sent a greenkeeper on Monday to speed up the water drainage with an aerator that was purchased at short notice – the device loosens the ground. But in the evening it rained again.

The city of Saarbrücken, as the owner of the stadium, explained on Monday via city spokesman Thomas Blug: “The first improvement measures have already taken place. We are in close coordination with the club and the DFB regarding further measures. After the game was canceled on Sunday, there was further rainfall in significant amounts.”
