Will the cup game finally fall through?
The duel between third division team 1. FC Saarbrücken and record cup winners Bayern Munich on Wednesday (8.45 p.m.) is apparently still on the brink. According to BILD information, the decision on whether the pitch can be played, which was planned for Tuesday morning, was postponed to Wednesday.
Another inspection of the square with the TV channels is scheduled to take place on Tuesday at around 2 p.m.

Background: The DFB sent a greenkeeper on Monday to speed up the water drainage with an aerator that was purchased at short notice – the device loosens the ground. But in the evening it rained again.
The next aerator was used on Tuesday morning! All parties are currently confident that the cup hit can take place in Saarbrücken.
The city of Saarbrücken, as the owner of the stadium, explained on Monday via city spokesman Thomas Blug: “The first improvement measures have already taken place. We are in close coordination with the club and the DFB regarding further measures. After the game was canceled on Sunday, there was further rainfall in significant amounts.”
Another problem: After the third division game between Saarbrücken and Dresden was abandoned when the score was 0-0 on Sunday, the lawn in Ludwigspark was heavily plowed up. Large pieces of the lawn have literally been torn out.
The fact is: The lawn has been causing grief for the city of Saarbrücken for a long time. Two and a half years ago the ground was frozen, but there was water above it. At that time, a number of holes were pierced with a lance and filled with sand so that the water could drain away.
This time it was the rain that flooded the square. And again the water doesn’t drain away. Whether the place will really be dry by Wednesday is questionable!
