Uli Hoeneß at the BR regulars’ table: Yesterday’s man

The fact that Uli Hoeneß does not allow facts to challenge him is not new. With his appearance in the BR regulars’ table, he proves once again that his time is over.

It’s been a long time since the CSU had “sovereignty over the regulars’ tables”. In the meantime, the former high-flyer party has lost some of its interpretive power. In the Bavarian airspace from Weimarschmieden in the north to Einödsbach in the south, only one helicopter man remained at his usual strength, quickly rotating and continuing to conquer the regulars’ tables in low flight.

His name: Uli Hoeneß. His mission: stir up a lot of air, no matter how hot it is. At the BR television regulars’ table last election Sunday, Hoeneß denounced the Greens as a banned party, “because Mr. Özdemir wants to tell me that I shouldn’t put sugar in my coffee anymore.” The appropriate response from the Minister of Agriculture: “Fake News.”

A few days later, Hoeneß proved that he doesn’t allow himself to be challenged by facts when he denounced the DFB because the association doesn’t show any heart for young fans at international matches: They should be allowed into the stadium for ten euros! A cheap demand, as “children’s tickets” have long been available for international matches – for ten euros. Is Uli Hoeneß perhaps not the ultimate air sovereignty, but an air icon?
