In the midst of the 2023 World Cup currently being played in France, World Rugby announces the signing of an exclusive agreement with TF1 concerning the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup and the WXV from 2023.
“While women’s rugby is on the rise, TF1 will fully broadcast the 2025 Rugby World Cup which will take place in England from August 22 to September 27, with 16 teams, including France which qualified automatically by finishing third in New -Zealand last year » specifies the press release. “The agreement, which extends the remarkable historic partnership between the world sports governing body and TF1, will also allow the broadcaster to broadcast WXV from 2023, the ambitious new competition bringing together the best women’s teams in the world. »

Concerning the WXV, the new competition (3 divisions) will be broadcast live on RugbyPass TV (free), on Sky in New Zealand, Stan Sport in Australia or even TFI in France which will broadcast all of France’s matches. ITV will show all three England and Wales matches. South African broadcaster SuperSport has added WXV 2 to its extensive lineup of live sports, which will allow millions of South Africans to watch all nine matches played in Stellenbosch and Cape Town from home. New Zealand Sky viewers will also be able to watch WXV 2 in its entirety. BEIN’s South East Asia branch is also committed to covering all three divisions, as women’s rugby attracts more and more people.
